At Cowgirl Camp, horseback riding is an active, hands-on experience and not a passive, nose-to-tail trail ride. For the safety and comfort of both guests and horses, participants must be able to independently mount and dismount their horse using a mounting block. This requires the ability to lift one leg over the saddle and maintain balance and control while mounting and dismounting from either side, without physical assistance from staff.

To ensure the well-being of our horses, there is a rider weight limit of 220 pounds. This guideline follows widely accepted equine welfare standards, which recommend that horses carry no more than approximately 20% of their body weight, including tack and equipment.

Participants are responsible for assessing their own physical ability to safely engage in camp activities. We ask that guests inform us in advance of any medical conditions, injuries, or physical limitations that may affect their participation, so we can prioritize safety and provide the best possible experience.

Participation in horseback riding and other ranch activities involves inherent risks. All guests will be required to review and sign a liability waiver prior to participation.
